Tulips

I love tulips, so we planted 110 bulbs. Here are some pictures:

Garden Revamp

Jordan and I were so excited about our garden this year, so when we started planting we figured out that it was going to be pretty hard to mow close to the boxes. So we decided to landscape around them. We thought it would look nice and make our lives easier. If you watch closely you can see the tulips growing and all the different colors.

Once we were done we expanded our garden and we’ll put more pictures of that on later. We added more boxes and extended it closer to the fence. We wanted to have grapes and berries too, so the sooner you plant the sooner you get to eat them :D .

Jordan’s Birthday and Frisbee Golf

Yay, Jordan had a birthday!

Jordan had a great birthday this year. We had a yummy ice cream cake and a good dinner. The weekend before we went to REI in St Louis and picked up our car top carrier.

We bought frisbee golf disks while we were there and played that the day after Jordan’s birthday. There’s a frisbee golf course by our house away, so we can go pretty often.

Well, I’m awful at frisbee golf, it’s nothing like playing Wii Resort, too bad. If you watch the video you can see pretty much how the whole night went. Luckily, I’ve gotten better, not much, but at least I get the frisbee more than 10 ft away from us.

Easter 2010

Easter happened on Conference weekend this year. We went out to check out our garden and there was a bunny in it. UGH!

  • jordanandemily's photo

I know what you’re thinking, aww cute bunny…WRONG! Not cute, not fun, not good. Bunnies eat gardens which kind of defeats the purpose of growing  one.  So we spent several hours trying to figure out how to chase it out of our yard. The bunny kept running under the deck, and then we couldn’t get it. We finally got it out and then a couple of days later it was back. We finally got it gone for good when we filled in all the holes with top soil. We have yet to see it again, but if we do…it’ll be sorry it ever came back in our yard.

On a happier, prettier note, the flowers in those pictures were on sale at Lowe’s for 33 cents each. So I bought them because they were almost flowering and tulips are my favorite flower. I came down on Easter to have a bunch of flowers that weren’t there the night before. It was a good surprise.

Building Chicken Coop

Jordan designed this coop for our chickens. We wanted to design one that would be clean and that would protect our chickens (apparently chicken wire doesn’t keep out pests, it only keeps in chickens). We put a screen under the coop and a door with a latch for the covered part of their house.

St. Patrick’s Day 2010

Jordan and I took a page out of Justin and Julie’s book and had a St. Patrick’s Day Dinner this year. Complete with Irish Soda Bread, Corn Beef, and Cabbage. We even made green Mint Oreo ice cream. We liked it, but it was a lot of food for just the two of us. We’ll probably do it again next year and invite other people to eat with us. :)

Chicks

I have wanted a pet for a long time and Jordan said that I could only get one if it was a useful pet. So I got some chickens. We got them mid-march and they were so small. Here are pictures from March of them. We named them Blackie, Tan Tan, Speckles, and Zebra. The sad thing is that Blackie and Zebra died in the middle of April (more on that later). The are so cute and will even eat stuff out of our hands.

Sprouting Plants

Jordan and I wanted to have a garden this year and so we started spouting seeds in February. Expect more updates and pictures. Here’s the start of all our plants:

Emily’s Birthday

Well, birthdays are fun at our house. Everyone can gets lots of free things on their birthday, so we go and get all the free stuff on our birthdays. Right before my birthday, we went to Red Robin and then to Culver’s which are pretty close to each other.

I got the Bruchetta Chicken Burger which is pretty good.

When we went to Culver’s I got my sundae but I wanted mint oreo. The mint syrup isn’t very good by itself, so I wanted to stir it up. So I asked for a lid. I swear that there was not a hole in the lid, but when I went to put a scoop of ice cream in the lid, it went right on the table, oops.

Here it is in Jordan’s words:

Emily takes off her shake lid (that, as most lids of the sort, have a big gaping hole on the top) and proceeds without thinking to slap her ice cream right into it getting her ice cream all over the table at the restaurant. It was hilarious.

Casadee and John made us dinner for my birthday and it was really good, taco casserole. I made some mint brownines for a game night with some of my friends and we had a ice cream cake for my birthday at home.

New Car

Jordan and I are a two car family now! We got an awesome deal on it and we really like it.

  • jordanandemily's photo

I had been driving about 2 hours every day. Driving Jordan to work, then driving to work, then driving home, then driving to pick Jordan up, then driving home. It was lots of driving. Now my driving time has been cut down to about an hour and 10 minutes, which is lots nicer. Yay for two cars.

Our Mercury has been having some problems lately, so we might be getting another car in a bit. Now that we have two cars, I can’t imagine driving that much again. :)
